Nerd boy meets GTA: San Andreas
I thought of the concept of this track after playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the first time. I always had said that if I ever did a video for it, I wanted to use actual gameplay to make the video.
So being inspired by Cee-Lo’s “Cry Baby” video, where he actually had someone else play him throughout (Jaleel White), I wondered what it would be like to have “CJ” from GTA: San Andreas play me throughout the song? And so the concept for this video was born. Check it out:
If I did my job right, you should want to dust this the game off and pop it in again. San Andreas was definitely one of the best games ever made. Go Rockstar North.
As a NARAS member it makes sense to submit your own tracks.
Since becoming a member of the Atlanta Chapter of The Recording Academy, I’ve been pretty active out at events and networking.
As some of you may know, the voting for process for next years Grammys has begun, and as a voting member, that means I get to participate with submissions and of course selections.
So with the release of “Good Music” earlier this year, it only felt right to submit it as Best Rap Song of the year, as myself as Best New Artist.
It’s good practice for the future, what can I say.

It took me forever, but I’m finally on Facebook.
Yeah it took me forever. Just been absolutely too busy. But with this new set of marketing the team is working on, a Facebook page was must. Check me out here.
New song from Hookdiggy talks about that making great music should be the most important thing as an artist.
With the Hip-Hop world being dominated by Auto-Tune abuse and new artists doing anything and
everything for the spotlight, it seems that the talent pool has definitely dried up and been replaced by the “do anything for attention” craze.
The hard work of putting together good music and presenting a solid product has become a thing of the past, as social media has taken over and everyday we’re presented with what hopefuls believe is the “next big thing.”
Hip-Hop artist Hookdiggy tackles this topic on his new digital single Good Music, which talks about how because of all of these distractions the industry has accepted lately, the focus of making a good song has been “lost in the sauce.” As a reminder of being an artist and staying true to the art form of hip-hop, Good Music challenges fans and artists to concentrate on the actual creation of what we’ve come to admire as fans of music in general. Let’s get back to making Good Music.
Produced by Hookdiggy himself, the track was mixed by Grammy award winner, Mike Wilson of Patchwerk Studios in Atlanta, GA and mastered by Kenny Mixx of Patchwerk as well. Good Music is designed to give lovers of hip-hop music a great dance groove as well as peek into the passion of why it’s important to write from the heart.
Good Music will be shopped to radio stations, DJs, magazines, as well as online social media sources with the attempt of creating a buzz for Hookdiggy’s upcoming album (release date pending). The behind the scenes video of the mixing process of the song is already getting great reviews on Youtube. Good Music is radio friendly and has been registered with Nielsen BDS and ready for the airwaves.
Hookdiggy is a Flint, Michigan native currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia working on shows and promotions for the single. His website of www.hookdiggy.com features music and video clips for fans of hip-hop to enjoy. Here is what some of the fans are saying about his sound:
“I like the fact that he’s talking about something and not selling out to the gimmicks.”
- Senseitional, I Am Entertainment™ (IAE) Magazine
“Hot track. Something new and refreshing. Definitely different.” – DJ Redd Dredd, 107.9 FM Atlanta
“Hookdiggy strikes again, heard this in the club and we all got up and danced to it.”- Apple iTunes Review
“It’s been a minute since I’ve actually listened to a rap song’s lyrics” – Apple iTunes Review
“He’s one of the increasingly few people in the music industry with talent AND real ‘Heart’.”
- YouTube Video Review of mixing session for Good Music
“He’s saying exactly what the music industry needs to hear. Absolutely killed the mic.”
- Kenny Mixx, Mastering Engineer, Patchwerk Recording Studios
